I’ve had a few videos waiting to start this series for a while, but this morning reader Amy Carparelli sent me the latest offering from Martin Heck of Timestorm Films, released on Saturday, and it’s absolutely stunning. This film just too beautiful to wait its turn in the queue!
Filmed in Patagonia, southern Chile, over a six week period, it combines around 100,000 still frames. Timestorm Films say they traveled over 7,500 km from Santiago to Punta Arenas during filming.
For those for whom such information is meaningful, this is the gear list:
Pentax 645Z
Pentax 25mm f4
Pentax 55mm f2.8
Pentax 120mm f4 macro
Canon EOS 6D
Canon 70-200mm f4 L
Canon 24-105mm f4 L
Samyang 14mm f2.8
Sony A7s [metabones adaptor]
eMotimo TB3 Black
Dynamic Perception Stage One with customized carbon rods
And here it is – remember to watch it on full screen (click the icon on the bottom right of the video) to enjoy it in its full glory. (Press your “esc” key to return your screen to normal afterwards. Yes, there are some people who still don’t know this.)
Beautiful and so expansive!!
That has to be the quickest comment I’ve ever had! 🙂
Stunning images!. I spent a very short time on the way to and from the Falklands in Punta Arenas and the Torres del Paine national park. I wish we’d had more time there! An interesting observation was the similarity of some of the vegetation with that of Australia (especially Tassie) and NZ. Living evidence of continental drift.
As I was watching, I thought about the similarity between the area and New Zealand too – there were places that looked almost exactly the same as the last video I posted about New Zealand: Home of Middle Earth.
