The publicity arm of the New Zealand Tourism Board, known as 100% Pure New Zealand, have made a series of videos featuring well known director James Cameron. Cameron, whose movies include Avatar, Titanic, Terminator, and Rambo moved to New Zealand four years ago.
The short videos are all pretty good, and do a great job of showcasing what New Zealand is best known for. There are seven in the series:

So come visit us! And if you’re a British rugby fan, remember the Lions tour next year – there’s a lot more to do than just watch the rugby!
We visited about 6 years ago and it was the trip of a lifetime. Terrific in every way. I’d like to return, but may not since it’s so far from NY.
When you’re coming from that far you need to make it a longer trip, which makes it difficult.
I’m in the same boat (from the UK), visited in 2010, fell in love with the place and desperately want to return. I had 4 glorious weeks, which just wasn’t enough!
Our 2 weeks turned into 6. I experienced a torn retina while driving to the airport for departure. Had to stay another 2 weeks. What a bummer. 10 extra days in paradise. 😉
I believe Mssrs Wright and Goddard have been working on technological alternatives to the dugout and paddle steamer. If commercialised, these could speed up your round-trip.
OMG I have to come back. My late wife and I spent a wonderful month in NZ back in 2000, and I spent the next year trying (and failing) to find a way to emigrate! Like Scotland, only more so, with lovely people and a better climate. Definitely on the bucket list.
The rules change all the time, so if you still want to come, it’s worth checking regularly. I heard on the news last night that since Brexit there’s been a four-fold increase in applications to emigrate to New Zealand.
As low as that?
I came for a visit in the ’80s and stayed!
