   What does everyone think of the idea that if I have another post on a particular day that isn’t a proper post, such as Simon’s Cat, that I don’t do a tweets post that day? Or would you like to see both?

   I love your selection of tweets. However, there is so much that it tends to shorten the discussion, the day before yesterday does not exist kind of thing (but then, tweets are supposed to be superficial, I think). It is a conundrum for a ‘consumer’ to give a clear preference. I do not like sites where there’s only a post once in a blue moon either, or that had regular posts, say 2 a week and then suddenly goes silent for months.
   So I’m in 2 minds about this too, but for different reasons.

   BTW, how is it you are in so much pain? Are there no pain specialists in NZ *that can treat it satisfactorily? Haven’t you found them? There is so much more than analgesics and morphine nowadays. Regional blocks**, anti-epileptics, even stimulation of some nerves that suppress pain nerves, biokinetics, etc. (If you want you can mail me the details, I’m not a pain specialist myself, but I know some, and they might know some NZ ones. Maybe I can find out if there is something new that might work?)
   *[I noted that some very effective pain treatment is not known in one country, but used successfully in another. One would think that is not possible in modern medicine, but it is]
   **[I’m a great proponent of orthosympathetic regional blocks, best treatment by far, often spectacular even, for neuralgia, such as during/after shingles. Until recently not widely known/used in the RSA or USA]

     I don’t like talking about my condition or treatment, or why my pain is not always under control. You can be assured I get the best possible treatment. I’ve been like this for many years, and I’m not dying any faster than most people my age, which makes a difference to what is the best way to deal with things.

   I see the first photograph of the Flower and Garden Show is of a Protea sp.. Although there are a few proteas outside the Cape Floral Kingdom, the heartland is here, hundreds of species and more than 90% -if not 99%- endemic!
   I gather that there are some protea-like species in Western Australia too, which was also part of Gondwana, also on the Southwestern tip of a Southern Continent (with it’s inevitable cold sea current (Coriolis) and dry-ish Mediterranean climate). Maybe there are some more related species in Chile?

   I’m not sure, but the kitty with the ‘special colour’ is possibly just dusty from grey ‘mud-powder’ or ashes. Look at the surrounding ground. At least I’ve seen that kind of colour before, in some ‘previously’ white cats in the townships. 🙂

   And that Chameleon! I love my chameleons -the cats among reptiles, in a sense- , I try to make my garden chameleon-friendly. It is clear it knows it is not prey (no use of the tongue): it is just playing with bubbles like a young child. How clever are chameleons?

   That ‘Catpuccino’ is stunning, fits so perfectly.
   And that Chinese bridge!
   And that water vole, those cute little paws, shall we baptise it Mr Trump?
   And the adapted brother,
   and, and … feels like a child in a candy-shop.

     I’m glad you enjoyed them. I’m pretty sure the proteas we have here are all introduced from South Africa, so it was probably not the best pic to use to advertise the show! They grow well here in certain parts of the country too. Isn’t one of your sports teams known as the Proteas? I know we’ve played them, but it’s too early for me to remember what sport it was. Maybe netball? Or cricket?

       Yes, our cricket teams (T20, ODI and Test) are all called The Proteas, as is our national netball team. Not ‘or’, but ‘and’. Spot on.
       I know there are some endemic protea-like plants in Western Australia, not just introductions. I find that fascinating. I promise I’ll search into Chile’s possible protea-likes too.

   Keep it going Heather if you can! Easy for me to say, but the tweets are very entertaining and enlightening. I don’t always comment, but I always read them…just like WEIT’s Hili dialogue.

   I have been to those gardens in Salzburg. The gardens and the city in general are a must see. There is a massive and beautiful castle as well…and Mozart’s birthplace too, so there is a lot of fun sites and a museum celebrating the maestro. Austria is one of my favorite countries: great food, pristine, gorgeous cities and lovely people.

   I wonder if Sessions has a KKK hood under his pillow…

     I suspect there are some things that could come out about Sessions past re racism that could destroy him. It’s hard to tell if someone like that has genuinely changed. If he has, good on him. However, a lot of what he’s doing in his current job is pretty ugly and not getting a lot of attention because his boss dominates the news cycle.

   I’m sure your readership will appreciate whatever format or style you find comfortable. I don’t see how daily bloggers keep it up. Perhaps a regular schedule that is less ambitious than seven days per week would work. Perhaps original content would be more manageable if broken down into a series of shorter posts over several days.

     Your shorter posts is a good suggestion. It’s a big reason I don’t get proper posts out more often – they get longer and longer as I try and cover all facets. I never do of course. There are always things I forget or haven’t considered.
